Web News Report (By Correspondent Yang Jianbing) On October 25, 2025, the National Final of Foreign Language Micro-lecture Outstanding Works Competition was held at Xi’an Jiaotong University. A teaching team composed of five faculty members, including Chen Bin, Chen Mingfang, Pan Jun, Zhang Yunfeng, and Hou Xinting, from the School of Foreign Languages at our university was awarded the National Second Prize in the Undergraduate English Group, owing to their solid teaching expertise and advanced integration of digital technologies. Meanwhile, the School of Foreign Languages received the Outstanding Organization Award, fully demonstrating the university’s innovative strength and team excellence in digital-intelligent foreign language teaching reform.
Guided by the National Advisory Committee for College Foreign Language Education under the Ministry of Education, this competition is recognized as a key teaching event included in the National College Teacher Teaching Development Index. It aims to promote the deep integration of information technology and foreign language teaching, while enhancing teachers’ digital literacy and curriculum development capabilities.
Relying on the development practice of the Hubei Provincial First-Class Online-Offline Hybrid Undergraduate Course “College English A3,” the participating team from the School of Foreign Languages innovatively proposed a four-in-one micro-lecture design model integrating “scenarios + videos + animations + AI digital avatars.” This model transforms abstract language knowledge into concrete, vivid, and interactive “cloud-based classes.” The entry not only emphasizes the cultivation of language skills but also incorporates value guidance and cross-cultural literacy, reflecting the modern teaching philosophy of “student-centered, ability-oriented, and technology-supported” education.
In recent years, the School of Foreign Languages has thoroughly implemented the national digital education strategy and continuously advanced the development of “New Liberal Arts” initiatives and the connotative growth of its curricula. Under the leadership of the school’s administration, efforts have been made to build a high-quality, professional, and innovative teaching team, actively fostering a foreign language teaching ecosystem characterized by “digital-intelligent integration and collaborative education.” This award not only represents the outcomes of the team’s long-term dedication to teaching reform but also serves as a vivid reflection of the university’s commitment to deepening educational innovation and supporting high-quality talent cultivation.
The School of Foreign Languages will continue to advance the development of high-quality digital teaching resources, strengthen the exploration and practice of AI-empowered foreign language education, and provide solid support for cultivating well-rounded talents with global competence in the new era.
